A mother hippopotamus and her calf prepare to enter the water early in the morning after spending the night on the savanna grazing. These hippos were from a pod that live in the Mara River near one of the lodges in Masai Mara National Reserve in southern Kenya. Hippos line the rivers of Masai Mara and are prominent in many of the parks and reserves in Kenya. The animals look big and slow, but in reality they are fast and dangerous. They are actually considered the most dangerous large animal in Africa.

Hello! My name is Pamela Peters. I created Wild Radiance Photography in order to share and further pursue my passion. My mission is to photograph and educate people about the surrounding world.
