Taken at the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Mine Creek in Mound City, KS.
A man rides his horse across the battlefield dressed in Civil War period clothing. He was representing a soldier in the Confederate cavalry. The reenactment was to remember the soldiers who participated in one of the largest cavalry battles during the Civil War. It took place on October 25, 1864 as the Confederate cavalry tried to retreat from Kansas after raiding the Kansas and Missouri border for supplies.
Pamela Peters is the owner of Wild Radiance Photography. She is a wildlife and nature photographer from Richmond, KS. She is also an author and public speaker.
